Study of the mineral analysis of some gypsiferous soils in Salah al-Din and Najaf governorates using X-ray diffraction powder technique

The results mineral examinations showed predominance light minerals very fine sand fraction all horizons pedon soils, evaporites dominant it, except exploited zarka region, which was characterized carbonate rocks. analysis using x- rays powder models, absolute dominance Quartz Gypsum with proportions crystal sizes, respectively, surface subsurface Fursan relative rate 51.53% an average size 30.28 nm 73.76% 31.41 zirconia followed Calcite, Feldspar, Dolomite Aragonite proportion addition presence other such rutile various iron oxides Goethite Hemetite.
